ALBATROSS. For Max Mara Fashion House 60th anniversary
2011
“To take photographs for Max Mara, I flew to Moscow from Salvador in Brazil, the Gulf of All Saints. Also to Moscow from St. Petersburg came guys - Yana Yakubenok, my favorite stylist, and photographer, lighting designer Evgeny Sorokin. Moscow producers Dmitry Fedosov and Elena Lubeznova brought to our hotel from Milan Max Mara coat. We put it on Yana. And were looking at her ... No idea in our heads ... none. On the table in the foyer of our hotel, where the meeting took place, were my gift to Dmitry - white wooden dove from Salvador. In search for ideas, we looked at the bird ... Moscow ... Theatre named after Chekhov near ... Boulevards ... Seagull ... Dove from the Gulf of All Saints ... A bird! we suddenly realized that in our shoot has to be a bird - Albatross. We called our faithful Moscow assistant and photographer Daniil Bayushevu because his dad a former scientist is a great craftsman now. And after a day our Albatross was ready and the idea too.
When I see somewhere on the sea with strong winds flying Albatross, it makes me to remember very touching, sensitive moments from the past. Albatross for me - a bird that flies to the future carrying on its wings beautiful memories... Max Mara is also goes into the future remembering its past. That's it. Moscow ... Boulevards ... Spring ... A girl puts a coat and walks into her memories ... And they are like birds, like our Albatross as dancers of the Bolshoi Theater in white tights ...»
